About the role
We are looking for a Technical Drafter & Document Controller to support engineering, maintenance, operations, and capital project activities through the development, management, and control of technical drawings and engineering information.
This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented drafting and document control professional to help improve access to accurate technical information while supporting safe and efficient work across the site.
Reporting to the relevant functional leader and working in a collaborative technical services environment, you will be:
  • Develop, revise, and maintain engineering drawings, 2D/3D models, layouts, fabrication drawings, construction drawings, P&IDs, schematics, redlines, and as-built drawings using AutoCAD and other CAD tools.
  • Manage controlled engineering and operational documentation, records, manuals, procedures, asset information, and technical databases.
  • Maintain document control processes, version control, retention requirements, records management systems, drawing numbering, asset numbering, and equipment tags.
  • Support capital projects by managing engineering deliverables, document turnover, operational readiness requirements, and handover information.
  • Administer engineering information and document management systems, including workflows, permissions, templates, and reporting.
  • Generate metrics and reports using business intelligence and reporting tools to support visibility, governance, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with document governance, engineering standards, and Management of Change requirements while providing stakeholder training and technical support.

About you
To succeed in this role, you will have:
  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Associate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent experience in drafting, design technology, document control, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of drafting experience in an industrial or engineering environment.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and other CAD software, with the ability to interpret mechanical, structural, civil, electrical, and process drawings.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, drafting standards, technical documentation, document control, and records management practices.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Bluebeam, Hexagon, ALIM, OpenText, Power BI, MOC processes, or similar systems would be beneficial.
