Job Description

Responsibilities: 

The Associate Scientist is responsible to apply basic scientific principles to routine and specialized laboratory work, and for gaining experience in the application and interpretation of the department procedures. 

Perform assigned routine laboratory tasks and learn the application of Quality procedures to ensure compliance. 

Will perform bioburden testing of processed water, raw materials and finished products for routine quality control, for validation, and for investigative projects. Will conduct environmental monitoring in controlled areas. 

Record, analyse, trend and report bioburden and environmental monitoring test data. 

Maintain documentation related to bioburden testing Perform basic methods for isolation and preliminary identification of Microorganisms from multiple sources. 

Typically be involved in routine testing of products and supplier materials and/or stability testing. 

Implement tasks and participates on teams. 

Ensure documentation compliance and process documentation. 

Interact with areas such as Operations and other Quality groups. 

Maintain laboratory cleanliness, organization and safety.


Qualifications

Qualifications:

Experience in Microbiology and aseptic technique. 

Basic knowledge in a broad range of laboratory techniques. History of self-motivation with a background in biological lab science. 

Experience in handling biological samples and knowledge of GLP. 

Knowledge of Lean or Six-Sigma tools preferred. 

Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills in a team environment as well as a desire to work within a team. 

Capable of readily identifying and analysing problems. 

Have basic analytical skills and be familiar with database and statistical software.
