Docket Specialist

Position Summary
The Docket Specialist is responsible for the timely, day-to-day calendaring of case activity into the Firm's electronic docket system. Additional duties include, but are not limited to, court case file research and advising attorneys and legal staff on court rules and procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Calendar deadlines in the Firm's electronic docketing system and apply rules-based trigger technology where appropriate.
  • Generate reports and provide case information from the courts or the firm's electronic docket system to Case Teams.
  • Provide court processes and procedural information to attorneys and legal support.
  • Perform court case research.
  • Respond to all inquiries made by secretaries and attorneys relating to Docket
  • Assist with other docket-related projects/assignments to facilitate cross-office support.
  • Perform responsibilities in compliance with Firm standards and Department procedures.
  • Other related responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to draw accurate conclusions from complex sets of information.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent professional work ethic, initiative, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and provide off hours (evenings, weekends, and holidays) support if needed.
  • Preferred 2 years of litigation docketing experience using a rules-based docket system (CompuLaw, CourtAlert, eDockets).
  • Preferred understanding of the litigation and appellate processes and court rules.
  • Preferred working knowledge of federal and state court processes and procedures.
