Responsible for day to day dock and Terminal duty operations with diligence and courtesy towards customers. Responsible for training and supervising the dock attendants. This position will require work availability after hours on weekdays and/or on weekends in rotation with other Terminal personnel.
Petro Star Inc. operates North Pacific Fuel (NPF), a full service fuel company, as North Pacific Fuel in Kodiak. We provide a variety of services to our Kodiak customers, including full-service heating fuel distribution, marine fuel and lubricant sales, propane sales, as well as operate and two gas stations, all while meeting the Petro Star commitment to customer service that's second to none.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (and other duties as assigned)
1. Train new dock attendants in all aspects of company policies and safe fuel transfer practices.
2. Working knowledge of all operations of the facility including the dock, warehouse and tank farm.
3. Work with Plant Foreman on dock attendant related issues.
4. Ensure the continuity of facility coverage during lunch breaks and vacations.
5. Fill in as lead PIC during barge operations.
6. Fuel boats on the marine dock.
7. Clean and maintain the Kodiak Terminal and dock.
8. Fill propane bottles and verify that the tank is safe to fill using proper safety precautions.
9. Stock, store and shelf lube oil, filters and miscellaneous products.
10. Assist customers with needs such as fuel, lube, filters and miscellaneous products.
11. Must be able to use and wear personal protective equipment as required.
12. Participate in emergency oil spill response situations.
13. Participate in all required training and drills.
14. Must learn and become proficient with computer system and customer account system.
15. Operate forklift and use small hand tools safely.
16. Perform light maintenance on equipment as needed.
17. Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment when required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
1. High School diploma or Equivalent required.
2. Must apply for a TWIC card (Transportation Workers Identification Credential) within 30 days from date of hire.
It is required by the Maritime Transportation Security Act of 2002 (MTSA) that you obtain a valid TWIC card in order to work at this facility. You must keep your TWIC card current and valid as a condition of employment.
3. Driver's License required.
4. Must have or be willing to obtain an Alaska A or B CDL license with X endorsement and CDL medical card at your own personal expense (within six months from date of hire).
5. Previous dock attendant experience preferred.
6. Working knowledge of petroleum products and HAZWOPER training preferred.
7. Basic computer skills preferred.
