Job description

The Housekeeper Supervisor will lead the team of House Attendants and ensure we provide excellent customer service. Housekeeping Supervisor responsibilities include organizing employee shifts, training and motivating team members and checking private and public areas for tidiness. The Housekeeping Supervisor will need to have a good understanding of sanitation regulations and team management abilities and ensure daily housekeeping operations run smoothly and that guests are satisfied.
Responsibilities
Job Overview: Supervise, train and inspect the performance of assigned room and floor attendants ensuring that all procedures are completed to the standards of the hotel

  • Assist where necessary to ensure optimum service to guests
  • Reports To: Director of Housekeeping/Assistant Director of Housekeeping
  • Supervises: Room Attendants, Housepersons
  • Internal: Housekeeping Staff - Room Attendants, Houseperson, Laundry Attendants, Front Office Manager, Front Desk Hosts, Bell Staff, Maintenance Staff, Food and Beverage
  • Verify room status on AM report; report discrepant rooms; prioritize and update status of check-out rooms
  • Distribute assignment sheets, room keys and beepers to designated staff
  • Maintain accurate records of assignments for security
  • Communicate additions or changes to the assignment sheets as they arise throughout the shift
  • Inspect supply levels, cleanliness and organization of floor closets and assign staff to rectify situation
  • Check room attendant's closet for proper supplies, neatness, cleanliness, or mechanical problems
  • Inspect rooms cleaned by assigned room attendants using designated checklist to ensure rooms are up to hotel standards and follow up with necessary corrections
  • Check vacant rooms, verify status and update status of discrepant rooms throughout shift as well as check DND rooms for status
  • "Mark" dirty sheets of randomly selected assigned rooms and follow up to ensure attendants have changed sheets
  • Inspect public areas, restrooms, meeting and office space for cleanliness utilizing designated checklist

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, the employee will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently with or without reasonable accommodation
3-5 years experience as Room Attendant
Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, requirements and use of equipment
Knowledge of proper and safe chemical handling
Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English (speak, read, write) with guests, co-workers and management to their understanding
High school graduate
Previous supervisory experience and guest relations training
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas
Ability to lift, bend, stoop, carry, push or pull heavy loads
May require lifting bundles of linen weighing up to 50 lbs
