# of Openings: 1 Software Engineer III Purpose: * Valkyrie Enterprises has need for a Software Engineer III in Virginia Beach, VA.
* This position provides engineering support to Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division, Dam Neck Activity (NSWCDD DNA) in support of the Program Executive Office Unmanned and Small Combatants (PEO USC) and IWS80 Fast Frigate (FF(X)) programs by providing Combat Systems Engineering, Software Support Activity (SSA), Cybersecurity Engineering, and Combat System Integration support for the Atalanta Weapon System (AtWS).
Job Description: * Provide technical and engineering support for tactical and operational interoperability during Atalanta Weapon System (AtWS) integration, test, and evaluation activities.
* Develop and maintain documentation for network installations, activations, engineering artifacts, technical documentation, and network drawings.
* Assist in the management, maintenance, and operation of Combat System laboratory facilities.
* Support planning, design, implementation, and sustainment of the AtWS Advanced Test and Integration Laboratory (AATIL) infrastructure network.
* Support Combat System integration, verification, validation, and test events in laboratory, pier-side, and at-sea environments.
* Monitor infrastructure equipment, event logs, and conduct network audits to ensure operational readiness.
* Configure, administer, troubleshoot, and maintain Microsoft Windows, Linux, VMware ESXi, and Cisco networking devices.
* Utilize packet analyzers and DoD-approved troubleshooting tools to diagnose hardware, software, and network issues.
* Apply software builds, operating system updates, firmware updates, security patches, and conduct regression testing to validate system performance.
* Perform Department of Defense cybersecurity assessments including: * DISA ACAS vulnerability scans * DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance validation * Security remediation and compliance documentation * Provide Combat System Engineering (CSE) support for Combat Management System (CMS) integration, characterization, verification, and fleet sustainment activities for the FF(X) Atalanta Weapon System.
* Support validation of Combat Management System (CMS) Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) software baselines and integration with Combat System elements.
* Participate in: * OEM laboratory testing * Combat System OEM integration testing * Land-based integration testing * Pier-side test events * At-sea test events * Support planning and execution of Navy Core Testing (NCT) events and collection of Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) required for system certification and fleet acceptance.
* Collect, analyze, document, and report test results validating: * System functionality * System stability * System reliability * Operational performance * Regression testing results * Support Combat System software baseline management and engineering efforts to ensure operational readiness and mission capability.
* Develop engineering reports, technical recommendations, test documentation, and status updates supporting customer deliverables.
Qualifications: * Must have a High School Diploma and at least 5 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: * Software Engineering * Combat Systems Engineering * Combat System Integration and Test * Software Support Activity (SSA) * Cybersecurity Engineering * Network Engineering * Mission Readiness Assessments * System Experience with: * Microsoft Windows operating systems * Linux operating systems * VMware ESXi virtualization * Cisco networking equipment * System integration and troubleshooting * Regression testing methodologies * DISA ACAS vulnerability scanning * STIG implementation and compliance * Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) * Must be able to support full time on-site tasking at Dam Neck Annex (DNA) Base. 
Desired Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related STEM discipline from an accredited institution preferred.
* Seven (7) years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
* Three (3)+ years supporting Navy Combat Systems, shipboard systems, or Department of Defense software integration efforts.
* Experience working with AutoCAD and/or Inventor, preferred.
* Experience with Navy Data Environment (NDE), preferred.
* Experience with  * Combat Management System (CMS) * Atalanta Weapon System (AtWS) * FF(X) or surface combatant programs.  Security Requirements:  * Must have an Active Secret Security clearance and base access requirements.
 Travel Requirements:  * Less than 10% * If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements: * Must be able to work in an office, industrial, or shipboard environment.  * Be able to lift and move materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one-man lift.  * Must be able to perform site surveys and carry a laptop computer.  Pre-Employment Requirements: Any offer of employment with Valkyrie Enterprises is contingent upon the successful completion of all applicable pre-employment requirements.
