To thrive as a DNA Analyst Intern, you need a background in biology, chemistry, or forensic science, often supported by relevant coursework or laboratory experience. Familiarity with laboratory equipment, PCR techniques, DNA sequencing software, and chain-of-custody protocols is typically required. Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and effective communication are essential soft skills for handling sensitive data and collaborating with team members. These skills and qualities are vital for ensuring accurate, reliable DNA analysis and maintaining the integrity of forensic investigations.
