Job description

We are seeking experienced Field Technicians with SDH, SONET, and TDM expertise to support large-scale telecom deployment, migration, and decommissioning projects across multiple customer locations.


Location: Dallas, TX
Travel Required
Pay Rate: $34–$40/hour
Employment Type: Contract


Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize IT tools and asset management systems to identify and locate telecom equipment scheduled for decommissioning.
  • Connect locally to telecom equipment when required to perform service checks and validation activities.
  • Perform power clamp readings and safely power down telecom devices.
  • Conduct equipment-level and circuit-level audits and provide detailed findings to project coordinators.
  • Update project status and asset information using reporting and inventory management tools.
  • Recover and remove legacy cabling and wiring as specified in project documentation.
  • Label, tag, and document recovered assets according to client requirements.
  • Support logistics, asset recovery, import/export activities, and operational functions as needed.
  • Travel to customer sites to execute project deliverables.


Required Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of:
    • SDH (Synchronous Digital Hierarchy)
    • SONET (Synchronous Optical Network)
    • TDM (Time Division Multiplexing)
  • Experience performing telecom equipment and inventory audits.
  • Knowledge of DC and AC telecom power systems.
  • Ability to interpret network documentation and asset records.
  • Comfortable working with large volumes of technical and inventory data.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficiency using IT tools, databases, and reporting applications.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively to customer sites.
