Job description

DMS Technician II

Department: HVAC

Position Type: Full-time, hourly position that is eligible for overtime. This is a role that will require driving to customer appointments who primarily reside within and around the North Shore region of Massachusetts. Our HVAC office is located in Woburn.

Compensation: $25 per hour + potential for additional $150 per week in incentives

Job Summary:

The Ductless Mini Split (DMS) Technician II is responsible for assisting a Crew Lead ensuring that DMS installation projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards. In Crew Leads absence, they provide leadership, guidance, and support to the team while also actively participating in installation tasks.

  • Assisting the Crew Lead:
    • Assist with day-to-day activities in the installation of DMS systems.
    • Provide on-the-job training, guidance, and support to team members as needed.
    • Report any job or employee issues to management.
  • Quality Assurance (with guidance from Crew Lead):
    • Inspect completed DMS installations to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
    • Identify and address any deficiencies or issues in the installation process.
    • Conduct regular quality control checks throughout the project to maintain consistency and excellence in workmanship.
  • Safety Compliance (with guidance from Crew Lead):
    • Enforce safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
    • Conduct safety briefings to promote awareness and adherence to safety guidelines.
    • Take proactive measures to mitigate potential hazards and address any safety concerns that arise during the project.
  • Customer Relations (with guidance from Crew Lead):
    • Communicate with customers to understand project requirements and expectations.
    • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a professional and timely manner.
    • Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality workmanship and excellent service.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • EPA Certification required.
  • Minimum 6 months of HVAC experience.
  • Must be able to work off ladders and in high places.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
  • Follow manufacture specifications.
  • General math
  • Be able to safely use power tools
  • Requires proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This is a supervisory role that includes overseeing 1-2 other crew members.

Work Environment: (will have exposure to all environments listed)

  • Warehouse Environment: This position is based in a warehouse, which serves as a base for many of our operations and includes equipment and material storage areas.
  • Customer settings: This position is based in customer settings and will require work in and out of doors, including in attics, basements, small-confined spaces, and rooftops.

Physical Demands:

  • This job may require travel in a personal or company-provided vehicle.
  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, bend, crawl, or kneel in confined spaces. The employee may be required to lift up to 60 pounds, and must be able to climb ladders, enter crawl spaces, and move up and down stairs safely.
