What does a typical shift look like for a DJ working in hospitality venues?

A typical shift for a DJ in hospitality settings involves setting up equipment, curating and mixing music to suit the venue’s atmosphere and guest preferences, and coordinating with event staff or management regarding the evening’s schedule. You may spend time engaging with guests, taking song requests, and collaborating with other entertainment or service team members to ensure a seamless experience. Depending on the venue, shifts can vary from daytime poolside sets to late-night lounge or club residencies.
