Position Summary:

The Divy’s Grab & Go Cafe Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and management of Divy’s cafe; managing the staff, kitchen, menu, and the daily success of the department. This role involves managing inventory, ensuring product availability, maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety, and leading a team of staff to deliver excellent customer service. This position requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a focus on delivering a seamless and enjoyable customer experience.


Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

  • Directly manages Divy’s staff, prepares work schedules, troubleshoots coverage issues, ensures Museum cash handling procedures are followed by all team members and assigns specific duties.
  • Ensures Divy’s areas are clean, safe, well-stocked and inviting. Considers the aesthetics of Divy’s Milk Truck exhibit and the Great Room during daily set up of the space.
  • Responsible for providing exceptional customer service in Divy’s and actively working to ensure Museum visitors have a great experience. Resolves customer service issues immediately & provides resolutions when necessary.
  • Proficient in point-of-sales systems and can help and/or check out patrons at the till.
  • Provides direct and specific guidance to Grab and Go team as needed, communicating needs for follow up and additional training or redirection to manager.
  • Responsible for performance evaluations, formalized staff member performance conversations and interviews.
  • Discusses strategies with Assistant Director of Operations to determine ways to increase sales and profitability.
  • Responsible for department scheduling on a day-to-day basis, ensuring correct coverage based on average customer volumes.
  • Ensures compliance with all governmental health, safety and sanitation requirements and immediately brings concerns to the Assistant .
  • Provides training, coaching and regular communication with the team.
  • Ensures accurate tracking of waste/loss and cost of goods.
  • Responsible for tracking Divy’s inventory and understands the reconciliation process required by the Finance Department.
  • Receives and verifies correct items and quantities that have been delivered by vendors.
  • Determines inventory levels of food and dry goods and monitors supplies daily; places orders as needed.
  • Reviews and submits orders prepped by the Divy's Assistant Managers. Receives orders and ensures that stock is rotated, and items are labeled appropriately.
  • Consistently monitors product quality and removes items as necessary.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and food supplies to ensure cleanliness, quality, and procedure adherence.
  • Ensures Divy’s equipment is cleaned and sanitized according to procedures and communicates with department manager when maintenance is needed, completed or scheduled.
  • To support the team, organization and department's overall needs, you may be asked occasionally to support floor staff.
Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and proven commitment to customer service and professionalism.
  • Experience in a leadership capacity, especially in the food service or hospitality industry.
  • Excellent critical thinking and judgement skills.
  • Ability to connect with people of varying abilities and diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently with limited direction in a fast-paced environment with a great deal of flexibility and attention to detail.
  • Ability to be flexible, focus on solution-building, and value the viewpoints of other team members.
  • Attention to detail, particularly regarding health and safety standards and expectations.
  • Ability to work in a team setting with a high degree of daily communication required.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Complete basic First Aid training.
  • Ability to direct volunteers when needed.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum 4 years of customer service, food service, retail, or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Point of Sales (POS) and cash handling experience preferred.
  • Computer skills using Word and Excel desired.
  • Current Washington State Food Handlers Card (Imagine will provide access to state training, if needed.)

  • Regularly required to stand and walk for long periods, climb ladders and stairs.
  • Occasionally lift and or move up to 30 pounds.

  • Ability to bend, carry, reach to the side, front and overhead, push, pull, walk, stand, twist and squat, grab, and squeeze are repetitive motions required of the position.
  • Regularly exposed to moderate noise in and around the Grab and Go Kitchen and service counter.
  • Occasionally exposed to small and/or enclosed spaces.

This is an onsite position in Everett, WA, and the pay is $28-30 an hour depending on experience. This is a part-time position - 25-29 hours per week, approximately 4-5 days. The schedule will be either Wednesday-Sunday or Thursday-Sunday. Weekend availability is required.
