Job description

We are seeking a Divisional Controller to be a key member of the E Tech Group finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and analyzing the financial results for your assigned divisions and presenting monthly results to senior leadership. You're a multi-tasker and not afraid to roll up your sleeves and sometimes work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when meeting important deadlines.
This position reports to the Corporate Controller.
You will:
  • Prepare divisional financial statements in accordance with GAAP and internal policies
  • Work closely with business unit leaders to lead strategic initiatives and assist with business decisions with financial insights and analysis.
  • Communicate financial performance to the executive team.
  • Prepare divisional P&L variance analysis, including analysis compared to budget and prior year.
  • Work with business unit leaders and project managers to understand the status of projects and associated risks. Ensure proper revenue recognition on all projects throughout each month and support the project teams for accuracy for financial reporting.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual budgets, budget variance reports and forecasts.
  • Support the design and implementation of effective internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Participate in system implementations.
  • Interface with various departments, including engineering, sales, and operations.
  • Prepare and manage client supplier questionnaires (pre-qualification and/or pre-bid as requested.
  • Assist/Lead customer, certification, and corporate audits.
  • Assist with M&A accounting and onboarding acquired companies
  • Prepare supporting schedules for Board, lender, and internal management reporting packages, including analytical review, charts, and graphs of operational and financial data.
  • Perform other accounting and financial tasks, often on short notice, by the Controller or corporate finance team.
  • Supervise and direct the work of accounting staff
  • Be an ambassador who embodies our Core Values, prioritizing the success of E Tech Group, our clients, and the professional development of our associates.

You have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or business-related field.
  • 5+ years progressive accounting experience gained ideally in a professional services firm (architectural, engineering, legal, accounting, etc.), preferably with prior supervisory experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of general accounting, including an in-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Demonstrable experience with ERP and accounting software packages. Sage Intacct experience a plus.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout the organization.
