Program Manager

Melbourne or Orlando, FL (Hybrid)

Position Summary

Thales is looking for aProgram Manager to work with customers, partners, engineering and the overarching Program Manager to create, trial and launch innovative value streams, services and business models.

In this position, you will also interface between Thales and the airline and serves as the primary point of contact with airline partner on all integration elements, including the commercial relationship, marketing, expectation management, and launch activities. This position will be key in growing revenue for our IFEC customers and Thales.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Bid & Program Initiation: Support bid development, identify risks, coordinate technical inputs, and participate in Sales-to-Program handoff.
  • Program Setup & Planning: Build cross-functional teams (WBS), develop and stabilize BOM, implement MAP tracking, and establish program documentation.
  • Scheduling & Execution: Own the master schedule, key milestones, deliverables, and ensure timely release of internal purchase orders (IPOs).
  • Program Oversight & Risk Management: Lead program execution, run team meetings, monitor performance (cost, schedule, BOM), and manage risks using tracking tools.
  • Financial Management: Track P&L, manage budgets and expenditures, forecast completion costs, and partner closely with Finance.
  • Customer & Lifecycle Management: Handle external communications, support milestone reviews (PDR, CDR, FAI, PMR), manage POs, and oversee project closeout and knowledge sharing.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of experience, or 4-8+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree, including at least 2 years in project management or PMO.
  • Industry & Business Acumen: Understanding of airline business models with strong financial skills, including business case development and value proposition analysis.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Management: Strong customer-facing presence with senior stakeholders; able to present information clearly and communicate effectively across multicultural, global teams.
  • Technical & Analytical Skills: Advanced Excel and data analysis capabilities; proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio) and familiarity with SAP, Primavera, and Microsoft Project.
  • Execution & Work Style: Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
  • Leadership & Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, motivate teams, and make sound decisions in a dynamic, international business environment.

The reference Total Target Compensation (TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target, is between

Total Target Cash (TTC) 82,949.25 - 145,979.00 USD Annual

This reflects how companies in a similar industry and geographic region generally pay for similar jobs. This range helps the Company make pay decisions as one data point among many. Where a position falls within this range is also dependent on other factors including - but not limited to - the employee's career path history, competencies, skills and performance, as well as the company's annual salary budget, the customer's program requirements, and the company's internal equity. Thales may offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's status protected by local, state, or federal law.
