Job description

Summary of Responsibilities

The Diversity and Inclusion Program Specialist supports the department's strategic priorities by helping implement initiatives across diversity and inclusion, philanthropy, talent attraction, associate engagement, and associate development. This position coordinates programs that enhance the associate experience, strengthen organizational culture, support talent attraction and retention, and advance the company's philanthropic and community engagement efforts. Partnering with the Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion and cross-functional stakeholders, the Specialist helps foster a culture of belonging, engagement, and leadership development while supporting organizational priorities and business objectives.

Primary Responsibilities and Objectives

·       Coordinate Give5 volunteer events and outreach activities with non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and other external partners that support diversity and talent initiatives

·       Lead college and technical school recruiting initiatives to develop partnerships with strategic schools

·       Maintain department communications, intranet content, promotional materials, and other internal resources that increase awareness and associate engagement

·       Collect, organize, and maintain program, training, and participation data; prepare reports and dashboard metrics to help measure program effectiveness and progress

·       Research industry trends, learning technologies, and best practices to recommend improvements that enhance learning experiences and support organizational goals

·       Design, develop, deliver, and evaluate professional training programs that foster an inclusive workplace, support the associate experience, and advance company mission and values.

·       Assist with developing, updating, and maintaining training materials, learning content, and resources within the AvenueU learning management system and other internal communication platforms

·       Provide administrative and project support for diversity, inclusion, and learning initiatives, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

·       Bachelor’s degree

·       Minimum seven years of professional experience in human resources, training, or diversity, equity, and inclusion-related roles and responsibilities.

·       Experience implementing initiatives, developing action plans aligned with organizational objectives, and measuring progress against established goals.

·       Proven ability to lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously, balance competing priorities, and drive successful execution.

·       Property management industry experience preferred, with an understanding of operational practices, workforce development, and organizational priorities.

Skills and Requirements

·       Knowledge of planning, coordinating, and supporting training, outreach, and engagement activities, including event logistics, communications, registration, reporting, and follow-up.

·       Well-organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work accurately with data in a fast-paced environment.

·       Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), AI-powered productivity tools, and Canva.

·       Strong interpersonal, customer service, listening, and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships across diverse teams and community partners.

·       Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining confidentiality and discretion.

·       Understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging principles and the ability to approach differing perspectives with empathy, professionalism, and respect.

Scheduling

·       Required to maintain a regular schedule, which may require working outside business hours, weekends, and non-traditional holidays

·       Ability to travel (30% or more)

Environment

·       Exposure to the environment typically found in an office building

Physical Requirements
