POSITION TITLE: Academic Remediation Tutor, 3 positions- Elementary Campus
JOB DETAILS:
  • $234/day while students are in session with some additional days offered for professional development with limited benefits (typically 170+)
  • Position is grant funded and is contingent upon continued support
  • Schedule and placement is flexible and will be assigned by the building principal on an as needed basis

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Applicant must possess a valid Ohio teaching license or have the ability to obtain one prior to the start of school; a reading endorsement is preferred but not mandatory
  • Applicant must be highly qualified in the subject that they are providing instruction and intervention
  • Experience and/or knowledge in the following: iXL, EnVisions, NWEA Map, Dibels, Wilson Reading Systems, Heggerty or other Math/Reading systems or intervention programs is strongly desired for this position.
  • Prior work records must demonstrate good working habits, excellent attendance record and evaluations.
  • Ability to provide a clear BCI/FBI background check free of convictions

JOB OVERVIEW:
  • An academic remediation tutor works with students assigned to their caseload to provide data and research-based interventions to those students on a continual basis. The successful candidate will work with small groups of students with an intense focus on reading and/or math utilizing structured programs and building the capacity of our youngest students while taking directives from coaches and administration. The tutor will use data-informed practice to provide students with differentiated, student-centered lessons based upon their individual needs to display growth focused on learning gaps as identified through collaboration with their colleagues and best practices. The tutor will report to the building principal for assigned days, hours, and caseload of students. Additional duties and coverages may be assigned on an as needed basis.
