Job description

Regional HVAC Distributor, recognized for its technical expertise, product availability, and customer loyalty, is seeking a Residential Territory Manager in the Greater Chicago area. A professional should have a minimum of three years of current experience working in Residential HVAC distribution sales to be successful in this role.

Dedicated internal training within the first 18 months of hire will get a professional ready and REALLY know the product lines, but the training also shows the commitment the company offers, so a professional will succeed.

A Territory Manager (TM) is the link between distribution and the commercial dealers, contractors, etc., within a designated territory. The TM will visit some assigned accounts but also be responsible for bringing on new accounts within a 60-mile radius, in person, on a weekly, bi-weekly, and/or monthly basis, depending on the size and/or potential of the account.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Devise effective territory sales and marketing strategies
  • Analyze data to find the most efficient sales methods
  • Meet with customers to address concerns and provide solutions
  • Discover sales opportunities through consumer research
  • Present products and services to prospective customers
  • Participate in industry or promotional events (e.g., trade shows) to cultivate customer relationships
  • Conduct training in sales techniques and company product attributes
  • Assess sales performance according to KPIs
  • Monitor competition within the assigned region
  • Prepare and submit reports to the sales manager
  • Local travel was required 100 % of the time

Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities

  • Proven track record of increasing sales and revenue
  • Ability to develop sales strategies and use performance KPIs
  • Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with Salesforce is a plus

Required Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Business, Marketing, or a related field
  • 3 years of current, or recent, industry experience (HVAC Residential Distribution Sales)
