Job description

This position is designated as a hybrid role based out of our headquarters near Portland, Oregon. The current expectation is for employees to work onsite four days per week, subject to change based on business needs. This in-office requirement may be adjusted at the discretion of the company.
ABOUT THE POSITION
This position is responsible for developing and growing the Emerging Brands, (Sorel, Mountain Hardwear & prAna), in the IDR regions, focusing on apparel, accessories and footwear. This role is responsible for the development and execution of strategic expansion and penetration of Emerging Brands within the assigned regions. This includes working closely with Sales Directors to manage partner relationships, work with existing Distributors and identifying and expanding into new markets. With strong consultation from Sales Directors, it includes developing and executing business plans at a country and regional level, working with Distributors on business financial planning, assortment planning, and seasonal execution of sales, product assortment and marketing plans. HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Manages Emerging Brands IDR forecasting through detailed Business Plans, Corporate Forecasting and Seasonal Bookings Management. Meeting planned sales targets and goals.

  • Ensures overall departmental initiatives and strategies are being accomplished through seasonal planning, GTM meetings, Sales Meetings, system and support need, etc.

  • Scout, assess and onboard new business and grow existing partnerships for assigned regions and countries. This includes:

  • Identifying new market and territory opportunities

  • Outlining priorities, establishing season sales growth targets by brand, category and region

  • Building business plans and presenting to management

  • Developing sales and marketing strategies to drive increased sales and consumer sell-through.

  • Monitoring of marketing funding

  • Facilitating pricing negotiations between Brands, Sales Directors and Distributors

  • Evaluate regional market needs, create and implement strategies to ensure success.

  • Implement in-store programs, recommend product assortments and collaborate on all marketing efforts to ensure that the Company's image, market visibility and brands are consistently presented.

  • Ensures coordination of activities with outside departments to ensure the IDR Distributor business needs are met and that departments are aware of strategic priorities. These functions include Sales, Marketing, Legal, Manufacturing, Human Resources, Credit, Finance and Accounting, among others.


YOU ARE

  • High level of teamwork and cohesion between Columbia Sportswear and Emerging Brand departments to plan and accomplish goals.

  • Performs work that is difficult and broad in nature with a wide degree of creativity and latitude.

  • This position requires strategic-level thinking, good understanding of international regions; cultures and norms, along with an in-depth knowledge of omnichannel retail.

  • Proven successful capabilities in sales, retail financial planning and product merchandising.

  • Possesses and applies knowledge of international GTM principles, practices, and procedures; possesses excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Possesses a high degree of diplomacy, maturity, and professionalism.

  • Understanding of each country's customs/import procedures and duties to facilitate success between CSC and Distributors.

  • Handles and works with proprietary, private, and confidential information.

YOU HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Marketing, Business Management, or closely related field (foreign equivalent accepted)

  • 7+ years' experience in Sales Management, Wholesale Sales, International Sales, Product Merchandising, Sales Forecasting, or similar position

  • Previous experience managing distributors, including managing budgets and sales forecasting for international distributors

  • Previous experience applying global GTM principles, practices, and procedures to reach market penetration, revenue and profitability targets

  • Previous experience working in retail financial planning and product merchandising

  • Proven experience in Wholesale Leadership
