Purpose of Position:


Del Monte Foods is the Foods Division of Fresh Del Monte, a global grower, producer and marketer of fresh, value-added, and shelf-stable produce. Del Monte Foods has a powerful portfolio of brands, including the iconic Del Monte®, Contadina® and S&W®. We are currently seeking a Distribution Coordinator.


The Distribution Coordinator is responsible for supporting shipping, receiving, inventory control, quality hold management, and materials coordination activities within warehouse and distribution operations. This position works cross-functionally with Warehouse, Quality Assurance, Production, Transportation, and accounting teams to ensure inventory accuracy, proper product disposition, and timely shipment coordination.


Performance is measured through accuracy of inventory transactions, shipment documentation, quality hold compliance, communication effectiveness, and the ability to support safe and efficient warehouse operations.


Accountabilities:


Shipping and Receiving Operations

  • Complete shipping and receiving documentation for stock transfers, trade orders, rail shipments, truck shipments, and other outbound or inbound materials
  • Coordinate loading and unloading appointments with carriers and warehouse personnel
  • Ensure shipping, receiving, and inventory transactions are accurately entered into company systems
  • Maintain organized shipping and receiving documentation for audit and operational purposes


Inventory Control & Quality Holds

  • Coordinate and manage restricted stock, quality holds, product releases, and product disposition activities
  • Communicate with Quality Assurance personnel regarding inventory adjustments, hold status, labeling, and releases
  • Maintain accurate daily inventories of materials, packaging, and finished goods
  • Support cycle counts, reconciliations, audits, recalls, and inventory investigations
  • Assist with inventory reporting and documentation accuracy


Warehouse & Administrative Support

  • Support warehouse office operations including filing, reporting, communication, and supply coordination
  • Provide training and guidance to seasonal or temporary support personnel as assigned
  • Communicate effectively with warehouse employees, truck drivers, production personnel, and external partners
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies within warehouse and distribution functions

Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Warehouse, Production, QA, Transportation, Accounting, and Operations teams to support business objectives
  • Assist with process improvements related to inventory accuracy, shipment flow, and warehouse organization
  • Support compliance with food safety, quality, and inventory control requirements


Minimum Skills Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Word and Excel
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.
  • 1–3 years of shipping, receiving, inventory control, or warehouse coordination experience
  • Manufacturing or food production experience
  • SAP or ERP experience preferred
  • Experience supporting audits, recalls, or inventory investigations
  • Continuous improvement or inventory systems experience
