Job description

The Distribution Manager leads warehouse and logistics operations for their shift, keeping material moving efficiently and shipments going out on time and accurately. This person owns the day-to-day performance of the operation and drives the standards, discipline, and continuous improvement that make it run well. The ideal candidate brings a proven track record of warehouse management, strong leadership, and a hands-on approach to solving problems on the floor.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment.
  • Implement and manage safety programs to foster a culture of safety.
  • Conduct regular safety training and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Ensure timely and accurate shipping schedules.
  • Plan and allocate resources to meet shipping demands.
  • Optimize the full order cycle for efficiency.
  • Build and maintain a strong 2nd shift team of supervisors and hourly employees.
  • Ensure integrity in system transactions.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Run performance management processes - cases per hour, line accuracy, on-time shipping, and others
  • Mentor and develop team members to build a high-performing team.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse, shipping, and logistics management.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing teams
  • Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to motivate and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in material management methods and WMS software.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and a track record of driving team performance.
  • High degree of process discipline and compliance with standards.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing methodologies.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Experience using Oracle software.

2nd Shift Schedule is Monday through Friday from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Work is performed in both an office setting and a warehouse/distribution environment. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and move about the warehouse floor for extended periods; to communicate verbally and in writing; and to use hands to handle materials, equipment, and computers. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The warehouse environment includes exposure to moving powered industrial equipment (e.g., forklifts), elevated noise levels, and seasonal temperature variations. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in designated areas. This position oversees 2nd shift operations and may require evening hours and schedule flexibility to support business needs.
