In the role of Distribution Section Manager, we'll count on you to: 

  • Take responsibility for operations of production section including staff development, profitability, morale, quality control and marketing support
  • Function as Project Manager and take responsibility for production on projects in addition to management responsibilities
  • Take administrative responsibility for section staff and technical service functions, and lead and coordinate services with other sections
  • Be involved in marketing planning, proposals and interviews
  • Be directly involved with industrial and public clients in marketing, project production and related issues
  • See that all work is planned, organized, controlled and evaluated through proactive project management system
  • Implement, monitor and support company policy
  • Select, train, develop and manage technical personnel
  • Manage and develop multidiscipline teams
  • Work cooperatively with National Directors and marketing staff in local and national marketing and production efforts
  • Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Preferably Electrical, but other degrees will be taken into consideration along with background and experience.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License.
  • A license/certification (PMP or similar) is a plus.
  • Experience with industry software including: CYMCAP, ETAP, EasyPower, Polywater Pull Planner, PLS-CADD, Spida Calc, Pole Foreman, etc.
  • 4+ years of distribution design experience including planning studies, coordination studies, wiring sizing, and a general understanding of constructability.
  • 10+ years of overall experience including prior project management and staff management experience.
  • Excellent client management skills, marketing, and business development skills in addition to contacts/relationships with power delivery clients.
  • Previous experience managing staff, clients, contracts, and hiring staff for an engineering consulting firm.
  • Self-driven and motivated individual who can network, generate new work, recruit, and grow a team.
