Job Summary:
Responsible for maximizing profits of the company. Interfaces heavily with internal staff including Information Technology, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Procurement, Warehouse Operations, Senior Management staff, corporate personnel, vendors and other PFG -Broadline OpCo Margin Managers. Effective communication skills with vendors, brokers, sales and purchasing departments, along with strong organizational and time management skills. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.
Job Responsibilities:
The Margin Manager position will perform the following duties:
  • Manage sales margins including Gross Profit (GP) percentage, dollars, dollars per case and dollars by drop. Also, monitors profit by sales staff and customer.
  • Implement and maintain Burden/Standards on new and existing items.
  • Perform financial analysis. Analyze daily orders for cost errors or price discrepancies. Monitor cost and pricing of products by category to ensure profit expectations while growing sales. Provide recommendations for enhancing company profits.
  • Evaluate bid items for contract maintenance and compliance to maximize margins. Ensure correctness of cost for bids prior to calculate and roll process.
  • Make recommendations to sales management on changes needed to improve margins. Work with Sales team to help grow sales, to investigate cost/margin swings, and managing pricing deviations.
  • Coordinate with Procurement team to maximize income for inventory cost adjustments, aged inventory relief, etc. Work with Procurement team to implement best practices for cost administration.
  • Evaluate and interact with Senior Management on approval of customer rebate/discount programs.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

4-6 years' experience in procurement, food sales, marketing contract administration and/or product costing experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in logistics, marketing, accounting or related area.
6-10 years' experience in procurement, food sales, marketing, contract administration and/or product costing experience within the foodservice industry.
