Job description

We are seeking an experienced and driven Branch Manager with a strong background in roofing and building materials distribution to lead our branch operations. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who understands the fast-paced nature of distribution, contractor relationships, and jobsite demands. Reporting to the District Manager, you will be responsible for driving operational excellence, accelerating sales growth, and building a high-performing team that delivers best-in-class service to roofing contractors and builders.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of branch operations in a high-volume roofing and building materials distribution environment, including inventory control, warehouse operations, fleet/logistics, and order fulfillment.
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of roofing products (shingles, underlayment, accessories, etc.) to meet contractor jobsite schedules.
  • Drive branch sales performance by developing relationships with roofing contractors, builders, and key accounts while expanding market share.
  • Partner with the District Manager to execute strategic growth initiatives aligned with regional and company goals.
  • Analyze local market conditions, pricing, and competitor activity to identify opportunities and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a results-driven sales and operations team, fostering accountability and a strong customer-first culture.
  • Recruit, train, and retain top talent with experience in building materials distribution.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to support demand while minimizing shrink and excess stock.
  • Oversee branch financial performance, including P&L management, expense control, and margin improvement.
  • Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and operational plans.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, DOT regulations, and safety standards, with a strong focus on warehouse and delivery safety.
  • Promote a culture of safety, efficiency, and teamwork across all branch functions.


Qualifications:

  • Required: Proven leadership experience in roofing, siding, or building materials distribution.
  • Strong understanding of contractor sales cycles, jobsite logistics, and distribution operations.
  • Demonstrated success in driving sales growth and profitability in a competitive market.
  • Hands-on leadership style with the ability to manage both warehouse and sales functions.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
  • Financial acumen with experience managing budgets, P&L, and operational metrics.
  • Knowledge of roofing products and systems strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and distribution/ERP systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but relevant industry experience will be prioritized.
