JOB SUMMARY

The Distribution Center Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the distribution center, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective warehouse operations that support Rhythm Healthcare's commitment to exceptional customer service. This role oversees inventory management, shipping and receiving, order fulfillment, team performance, facility operations, and continuous process improvement while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Directly supervises Distribution Center Associates and Supervisors.
  • Recruits, coaches, develops, and manages team performance.
  • Conducts performance evaluations, provides ongoing feedback, and supports employee development.
  • Oversees scheduling, staffing, and labor planning to meet operational demands.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Lead all daily distribution center operations, including receiving, warehousing, inventory management, picking, packing, shipping, and returns.
  • Ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately, on time, and in accordance with quality standards.
  • Develop and implement operational processes that improve productivity, quality, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor key operational metrics (inventory accuracy, order accuracy, shipping performance, productivity, labor utilization, and service levels) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate inventory through cycle counts, audits, reconciliation, and inventory control best practices.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure compliance with all OSHA, federal, state, local, and company safety regulations while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Lead regular safety meetings, warehouse inspections, and corrective action initiatives.
  • Develop staffing plans, assign work priorities, and optimize labor utilization to meet business needs.
  • Partner with Customer Service, Sales, Procurement, Operations, Finance, and Transportation teams to ensure seamless execution of customer orders.
  • Manage vendor and carrier relationships as needed to support efficient warehouse operations.
  • Develop, monitor, and manage the distribution center operating budget while identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems (NetSuite), and reporting tools to analyze operational performance and make data-driven decisions.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives using Lean, continuous improvement, or best practice methodologies.
  • Ensure company assets, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained.
  • Prepare and present operational reports, KPIs, and performance updates to leadership.
  • Participate in strategic planning and operational meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Forklift Certification preferred (or ability to obtain upon hire).
EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive warehouse, distribution, or logistics experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience managing warehouse or distribution center teams.
  • Experience with inventory control, cycle counting, and warehouse operations required.
  • Experience with ERP or Warehouse Management Systems (NetSuite preferred).
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Frequently required to stand, walk bend, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout the distribution center.
  • Frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle equipment and materials.
  • Must be able to operate warehouse equipment and use computers, tablets, and handheld scanners.
  • Frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
