Job description

We have an immediate opening for a Radio Service Technician

Job Responsibilities:

· Install, maintain and provide technical support and service of wireless communications equipment such as: UHF/VHF and 800/900 MHz analog and digital systems.

· Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and resolve wireless communication equipment problems with customers in a positive and efficient manner.

  • Perform repairs on electronic components and two-way radio systems
  • Perform field installation, service, startups and preventive maintenance on customer systems
  • Offer technical support and training on software and hardware
  • Program radios
  • Perform other assigned duties

Requirements:

§ Extensive knowledge and understanding of 2-way radio theory, RF propagation characteristics and communication system design and operation.

§ A.S. or B.S. degree in electronics from a traditional university, community college or trade school required.

§ Minimum of two years work experience required.

§ Proficiency in designing, troubleshooting, and installing Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) and Bidirectional Amplifier (BDA) systems.

§ CET Certification a plus. Journeyman level must be attained within 6 months of employment.

§ Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and diagrams.

§ Valid driver’s license.

§ Computer literate on Windows operating systems.

§ Excellent customer service skills.

§ Must demonstrate track record of honesty, reliability, and punctuality.

§ Quick learner with the aptitude to pick up knowledge and skills in a short period.

§ Lift up to 70 pounds of equipment for a distance of up to 100 feet on inclines.

§ Employer reserves the right to perform background verifications and drug tests on candidates who are offered and accept a position.
