We are a full-service HVAC, building automation, chiller, and retrofit contractor with a reputation for combining high-quality consulting services with customized energy solutions. Our integrated, single-source solutions include turnkey in-house capabilities with design assistance, as well as engineering applications and automated control systems.
The Automation Field Engineer will provide service, test, adjust, and repair new or existing electric, electronic, and mechanical automation devices and systems. It will also diagnose the cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and perform preventative and corrective maintenance. The Automation Field Engineer manages multiple jobs and will also be responsible for coaching and mentoring other automation technicians.
• Communicate with customers upon arrival and before leaving the work site. Tracks and records personal job progress and keeps the Project Manager informed on progress through daily logs.
• Keeps project management appraised of customer concerns and issues.
• Basic troubleshooting of unitary controllers or able to assist others on how to resolve problems.
• Works with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.
• Calibrates systems requiring basic electronic test equipment, such as multi-meters, network terminals, and or laptop computers.
• Uses various hand tools and equipment to diagnose, repair, and program HVAC control equipment.
• Share responsibility for the financial success of all assigned construction projects with the management team.
• Works hand in hand with PMs and engineering team to coordinate technical aspects of construction projects.
• Responds to periodic service requests to help technician overload.
• Participates in project oversight and foreman guidance, and QC.
• Implement Network addressing to customer (MES)standards.
• Works with the customer IT department to configure addressing and port verifications.
• Provide technical support for building owners, GC’s and foreman during construction as needed.
• Loading controllers with pre-approved code by the engineering team or (manager)
• Ensure all controllers are labeled, configured, and ready for site delivery and installation.
• Perform start-up, commissioning, and testing of equipment and responsible for all start-up testing reports and documentation.
• Prepares for on-site testing of SOO and performing repairs as needed.
• Associate’s degree or Technical School a plus.
• 5+ years of direct automation experience with control systems (programming preferred).
• 3+ years of industry knowledge in HVAC controls systems (Distech, Circon, Loytec)
• Ability to interface with customers
• Engineering skills required include knowledge of electronics, mechanics, and computer programming.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with control system architecture design, programming, or maintenance desired.
• Microsoft software products knowledge and controls networking.
• A valid driver’s license.
