Job description

Music Long-Term Substitute Teacher Lower Elementary Grades K-4

Period: Beginning Mid February 2027 through early April 2027

Job Summary: Full-Time, Hourly, Long-Term Substitute Grades K-4 music teaching position.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am-3:50pm, Tuesday 3:15pm-4:00pm choir rehearsal

Responsibilities:

· Teach multiple music classes throughout the week - Kindergarten through Grade 4

· Demonstrate a passion to teach in an established program

· Produce high-quality artistic experience working with students in Kindergarten – Grade 4

· Teach lesson plans provided by teacher using sound pedagogical methods of instruction

· Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.

· Conduct ongoing formal and informal assessments of student achievement.

· Maintain open communication with parents and students through a variety of means, including face-to-face conversations, email, and phone calls.

· Integrate technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.

· Maintain accurate, complete, and current records of student progress, achievement, and behavior.

· Work collaboratively with faculty and staff. This includes, but is not limited to, working with the music faculty and Director of Fine Arts.

Qualifications:

· 4-year degree in Music Education.

· Prefer a licensed teacher with K-12 certification for the State of Ohio in music education.

· Possess a minimum of two years of teaching experience or field experience. Experience teaching elementary students a plus.

· Experience working with a learning management system, like Canvas.

· Must be able to integrate faith and learning.

· Must be a practicing Christian who is comfortable working in a multi-denominational Christian community.
