The Communications and Spectrum Dominance sector in Salt Lake City, UT is looking to hire for a Sr.  Associate, Industrial Security. This role is an entry-level position responsible for assisting the personnel security team with administrative actions in support of the organization. This role requires an understanding of the Defense Information System for Security (DISS), as well as a background in security principles, government clearance processes, and compliance with federal regulations.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform program security administrative tasks and duties to include filing documents, updating logs/lists, and coordinating with internal and external customers.
  • Assist the personnel security team to ensure efficient and compliant processing of security clearances.
  • Maintain PERSEC records for SAP/SAR and SCI related programs to include the use of DISS, SIMS, JADE, and SIPRNET.
  • Complete actions utilizing DISS to ensure accurate and timely data entry and management.
  • Develop and implement personnel security policies and procedures in accordance with federal guidelines and organizational requirements.
  • Conduct regular reviews and audits of personnel security files to maintain compliance with government standards.
  • Provide guidance and training to employees and management on security clearance processes and best practices.
  • Liaise with government agencies, including the Department of Defense (DoD) and other relevant bodies, to resolve any issues related to security clearances.
  • Assist with the submission of periodic reinvestigations, incident reports, and other required documentation through DISS.
  • Advise on risk assessments and adjudication recommendations for personnel security clearances.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in security clearance regulations and technology systems such as DISS.
  • Ensure the protection of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and compliance with relevant privacy laws and regulations.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy of maintaining and updating records.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 1 to 3 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
  • An active Secret clearance, ability to obtain a TS/SCI.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of DISS, SIMS and other security clearance databases and processes.
  • Familiarity with ITAR, EAR, and CUI regulations; must be able to discuss these topics when prompted.
  • Understanding of federal security regulations and guidelines, such as 32 CFR Part 117.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
  • In-depth knowledge of the 32 CFR Part 117, DoD 5200.01, DoDM 5205.07, OPSEC, and related security for a broad range of customers in DoD.
  • Knowledge of resources and practices in the intelligence community; must be current on changing requirements.
  • Knowledge of best practices in implementing physical security methods, consistent with the heightened risk environment while minimizing adverse effects on staff and visitors.
  • Experience with JADE, DISS, and SIMS applications.
  • Ability to implement compliance programs.
  • Current DoD Top Secret security clearance eligibility; adjudicated and in-scope U.S. Government T5 investigation.
