Job description

Position Overview

The TWC Manager is a hands-on operational leader responsible for maintaining the highest standards of patient care, compliance, staff performance, and floor execution.

At Takoma Wellness Center, managers are not passive supervisors. They are accountable leaders who ensure:

  • The floor runs smoothly and efficiently
  • Patients are never left waiting unnecessarily
  • Compliance is never compromised
  • Staff are coached, supported, and held accountable

This role requires maturity, decisiveness, emotional control, and strong operational awareness in a fast-paced, highly regulated medical cannabis environment.

Holiday and weekend availability is required. Schedule flexibility is mandatory. Prior Cannabis Experience is required for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Floor Leadership & Staff Accountability
  • Coach staff in real time on patient service, compliance, and professionalism.
  • Address policy violations promptly and document when required.
  • Support scheduling needs and coverage gaps.
  • Managers are expected to lead from the floor, not from the sidelines.

Patient Experience & Compliance Oversight

  • Ensure every patient interaction is professional, respectful, and efficient.
  • Verify patient documentation with strict confidentiality.
  • Oversee accurate POS entries, discounts, and purchase limits.
  • Monitor adherence to all DC ABCA Medical Cannabis regulations.
  • Assist with DC Medical Cannabis application guidance when needed.
  • Escalate patient complaints quickly and professionally to the General Manager or COO.

Operational Control & Financial Awareness

  • Execute opening and closing procedures with precision.
  • Ensure accurate sales, reporting, and data entry.
  • Maintain accurate menus (online and in-store).
  • Support weekly and monthly reporting processes.
  • Strong proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Gmail) is required.

Inventory & Facility Oversight

  • Support accurate inventory handling and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with product storage and movement.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, professional dispensary environment.
  • Always protect patient privacy.

Salary

$52000 - $62000 USD per year

Required Skills

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience in a high-volume retail sales environment.
  • Proven track record of developing talent.

Desired Skills

  • Cannabis experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a retail environment with inventory including some sort of regulated product (e.g., alcohol, pharmaceuticals, perishables, etc).
