Job Title: Central Dispatcher

Department: Planning

Reports To: Sr. Director, Planning / Dispatch Supervisor

Role Summary

Organize and execute an effective and profitable operation including efficient scheduling of labor.

Role Accountabilities and Responsibilities

· Maintain Communication with Drivers throughout the day; 24 Hour Availability On Call

· Assist with Confirming Pack / Load / Delivery Dates with Coordination & Planning

· Review Assigned Shipments with Driver’s on a Daily Basis

· Order Packing Material with Service Centers or Vendor thru a Purchase Order Program

· Confirm that CBC (Certified Background Check) Labor is Obtained and Documented by Assistant

· Enter Metric Scores in Secure Budd Net

· Submit Comdata Requests for Funds for Company Drivers; Labor, Motels, Fuel & Other Expenses

· Complete Job Order Tracking Sheet & Estimate for O/O’s for ICA Review and Cash Advance Loads

· Assist Drivers in Problem Solving; Coordinate with Inter-Departmental Staff (Coordinators & Planning)

· Update Move Line Notes accordingly

· Schedule Parking Permits and Approvals thru Coordination

· Reserve Shuttle, One Way Truck & Tractor Rentals (Penske, Budget & Ryder)

· Updated Coordination & Planning for Additional Authorizations(Packing & Weight Overages)

· Interface with General Managers & Warehouse Staff

· Schedule Shipments into and out of storage with Warehouse Managers & Agents

· Assist Fleet to insure Driver’s Logs, Driver’s License & Driver’s Medical Cards are current

· Manage Driver Time Off Requests

· Update Docuware with Driver Provided Pictures, Tare, Gross Weights and Shuttle Documentation

· Other tasks as assigned by the Senior Director of Planning

Qualifications and Experience

· Experience: 2-4 years’ experience in moving industry dispatch

· Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred

· Computer Skills: Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Access, Word), Database Management.
