The Operations Manager will oversee all daily operations of the branch plant from dispatch, project scheduling, branch employees and branch reporting. The Operations Manager also ensures policies and procedures are followed and develop processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality and productivity.
Essential Job Functions:
Includes, but is not limited to, the job specifications contained herein. Additional duties or job functions may be required as deemed necessary by management personnel to contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed customer expectations, maintain and increase production, minimize unnecessary costs, maintaining current quality standards and ensure all safety standards are met
  • Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time delivery
  • Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
  • Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
  • Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions
  • Manage branch employees, recruit, manage and develop current branch staff
  • Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime
  • Commit, implement and maintain all safety standards
  • Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
  • Address employee issues or grievances, coach, train and discipline
  • Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts

Requirements
Desired Qualifications:
  • Proven work experience as a branch manager in a similar field with managerial experience
  • Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources)
  • Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise
  • Knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes

Required Skills:
  • Repeated physical effort including driving for several hours per day or several hours at a time, standing and walking for extended periods of time (more than several hours), loading and unloading equipment into and out of company vehicles, walking on varying ground surfaces and frequently lifting a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Working from elevated platforms, ladders or truck beds
  • Operating hand/power tools, manual dexterity to operate keyboards and smart phones, physical agility to use arms, legs and hands repetitively
  • Working outdoors, working safely under adverse environmental and weather conditions which include high speed traffic areas, heavy construction equipment, fuel fumes and construction substances
  • Comfortable around vehicles moving through work zones and maintaining constant awareness of surroundings on construction site including placement of machinery and equipment, other employees and construction activities
  • Vision adequate to see moving vehicles, read highway construction MOT signs, read instructions, manuals, reports, and construction plans
  • Hearing adequate to hear approaching vehicles, audible commands at a distance from supervisors, conversations in person, and over the telephone
  • Communicating clearly - both written and verbally, ability to complete daily paperwork as required by supervisor
  • Working a flexible schedule which can include day or night shifts, weekends and/or holidays, adjusting to a changing work schedule, working overtime and working individually and as a team with other employees
  • Valid driver's license required, will require passing MVR and controlled substance test, may require background and criminal record check. Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
  • Must maintain company standards post-employment for background checks, criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
