This position will report to the Dispatch Manager.

Relocation is not eligible for this role. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Dispatch customer delivered loads across the US.  
  • Serve as dispatch operations liaison between Hormel enterprise and motor carrier partners.
  • Coordinate freight transportation based upon ship location.
  • Analyze order quantity, destination, weight, delivery date and product type to determine consolidation and efficiency via transportation management systems.
  • Source carriers based upon cost, service reliability, equipment availability and past performance history.
  • Create solutions to challenges that effect on time delivery to customers and distribution networks.
  • Able to work overtime when required and potential weekend rotation.
  • Miscellaneous projects as assigned by CT management to fulfill needs of department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • Demonstrated dependability due to transactional customer service requirements for this position.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills: ability to communicate with clarity and diplomacy with time sensitive/challenging issues.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Proven ability to initiate appropriate action independently.
  • Proven ability to multitask with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Applicants must not now, or at any time in the future, require sponsorship for a work visa

  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer

Preferred

  • Oracle Transportation Management System (TMS) or alternate TMS experience, and or motor carrier dispatch experience.
  • Proficiency in order processing systems.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to learn and use custom computer programs. 
  • Experience with mainframe/WMS systems.

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range.  The base hiring pay range for this role is $19.25- $28.50, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
