Job description

Connolly's Do It Best, a Nation’s Best Holdings, LLC company, is seeking candidates for our

Mechanic position at our Southgate, IN location.

What You Can Expect

  • Maintains a clean and safe work area, ensuring all equipment is in proper working condition
  • Follows instructions and guidelines provided by direct supervisor and adheres to established protocols and processes
  • Performs routine preventive maintenance tasks and inspections as directed to avoid equipment issues
  • Performs basic repairs and service on warehouse equipment, small engines, lawn mowers and related equipment in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications
  • Maintains neat and orderly records of equipment maintenance and repairs
  • Safely maintains and cares for tools and equipment, conducting daily inspections
  • Monitors, maintains, and updates warehouse equipment parts inventory as needed
  • Assists with troubleshooting and minor maintenance issues throughout the store/yard as needed
  • Provides training to employees in warehouse equipment repair as required

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in warehouse maintenance and vehicle background
  • Basic understanding of electronics, hydraulics, brakes, welding, and general maintenance may be required
  • Basic knowledge of lawn mower repair, small engine service, general maintenance and equipment troubleshooting required
  • Proficiency in operating a pallet jack, forklift, and rolling truck stock
  • Physical fitness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including exposure to temperature variations and inclement weather
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, climb, and stoop as necessary
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and responsible practices
  • Physical ability to lift and carry items weighing 25-50 lbs consistently or 50+ lbs with assistance
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, to accommodate the needs of the business
  • Good communication skills are essential for interacting with customers, dispatchers, and team members effectively
  • Results-oriented with the ability to serve stores with humility and be a steward of Nation’s Best’s values
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while remaining adaptable and flexible
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the willingness to consistently provide superior customer service skills

Availability to work a flexible part-time schedule based on business needs, including Monday through Friday and Saturdays between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Weekly hours will generally range from 20–25 hours per week but may vary.
