Job Title: "Warehouse Associate/Stockman"
Location: Valparaiso, IN 46383
 
Job Description:
Responsibilities:
Originate and prepare bills of lading, damage reports, reports of unloading inspection, store transfers, adjustment requests, and other Company forms in the process of receiving, storing, dispatching, and distribution of material, supplies, and merchandise.
Operate lift trucks with rated capacity over 2,000 lbs.
Check stocks as to proper quantities, obsolete items, surplus or shortage and recommend corrections.
Be responsible for and coordinate such work as loading, unloading, crating, uncrating, packing, unpacking, assembling, disassembling, distributing, inspecting, storing, tagging, and counting of Company stores.
Check and verify freight bills against purchase orders for proper description and quantity of incoming stores.
Operate a typewriter.
Take reasonable care of Company tools and equipment that are assigned to him during working hours.
Keep assigned equipment work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
Report irregularities and abnormal conditions.
Direct and instruct employees assigned to work with him.
Assist in the training of other employees.
Perform similar or less skilled work in this classification or, when the diversity of work load requires, perform similar or less skilled work in equal or lower classifications.
Perform duties in accordance with the Company's safety rules and operating regulations and practices.
 
Qualifications:
One year experience as working in a stockroom or equivalent
Have a working knowledge of the stores' coding and storage systems and the rate of turnover of ordinary materials, supplies, and merchandise.
Have a working knowledge of shipping regulations with respect to postal, motor freight, railroad and express service and the various shipping rates and schedules.
Have the ability to operate a typewriter.
Must be able to operator a forklift, or cherry picker or stand up fork lift.
