Summary:

Oversees, facilitates and coordinates all Departmental service activities . Coordinates and facilitates safety activities in accordance with regulatory agencies and accepted industry standards. In absence of the Department Supervisor, Supervises and serves as a role model delivering the highest level of quality service. Supports and adheres to all organizational and department policies, procedures and improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

1. Demonstrates ability to lead, direct and develop empowered, confident, knowledgeable, customer oriented staff & students who are aware of & support organizational goals & are self-sufficient during daily operation as measured by employee performance evaluations.
2. Demonstrates the ability to assess and perform clerical needs of the department & department management in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent & continuous manner. Demonstrates skills in both Oral & Written Communication. Use of all communication technology appropriately.
3. Provides input to Department Supervisor and manager with department staffing. Oversees all aspects of dispatching Patient Transports and EVS functions in accordance with defined department standards making recommendations for improvement 100% of the time.
4. Acts as a resource in regards to the proper use of body mechanics, making suggestions for improvements and provides the necessary inservice training 100% of the time. Participates in department performance improvement activities & PI projects.
5. Assess, research and make recommendations for Departmental equipment repair & replacement 100% of the time.
6. Assists Supervisor in managing and maintaining various data elements for daily, monthly & annual productivity reports.
7. Prepares and maintains various schedules received from diagnostic departments insuring confidentiality for patients & their families at all times. Participates in hospital education programs in the area of patient safety 100% of the time.
8. Coordinates and oversees all aspects of the Departmental  service activities, and helping reach departmental goals.
9. Assists Department Supervisor in ensuring that all Departmental  equipment is properly cleaned and maintained 100% of the time.
10. Effectively communicates with all members of the Unit,  members of other departments and patients & families. Attends & participates in all mandatory department & hospital committees, meetings & workshops 100% of the time.
11. Assists in all areas ensuring that the department is in compliance with safety and security policies 100% of the time.
12. Assists Department Supervisor in coordinating all training of area employees resulting in competent employees as measured by employee reviews and feedback.
13. Assists in the development of department policies and procedures when requested 100% of the time.
14. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
15. Performs other duties as assigned.
