Reports to: Transportation Manager

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Job Type: Full-time

FSLA: Non-Exempt, hourly

Location:  NHT-Denver


Work Schedule: Typically, Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm. Hours may vary depending on workload.


Purpose of Position:

The Dispatch Lead is responsible for overseeing daily dispatch operations and coordinating drivers, routes, and loads to ensure efficient and reliable transportation service.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of NHT Logistics Dispatch, ensuring efficient and effective coordination of drivers, routes, and loads.
  • Set up hauling contracts in accordance with NHT standards.
  • Coordinate nest run supply to meet customer needs.
  • Coordinate truck and trailer maintenance and repairs with the Shop.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with drivers, providing support and addressing transportation-related needs or concerns.
  • Lead, train, and support dispatchers and support personnel to ensure consistent and effective dispatch operations.
  • Coordinate trailer washouts and truck washing using approved methods and procedures.
  • Monitor dispatch activities and help identify opportunities to improve communication, efficiency, and service.
  • Assist with resolving scheduling, routing, and other day-to-day transportation issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Transportation Manager.

Requirements/Preferred:

  • High school diploma or GED; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Knowledge and experience in trucking and dispatch operations.
  • Experience with route planning, scheduling, and coordinating drivers.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, email, and internet applications.
  • Complete support of and willing adherence to NHT’s mission, vision and core values and will hold these standards as his/her own.

Physical Requirements / Environmental Conditions:
