Job description

Join the Transdev team in New Carrollton, MD! We're hiring a part-time Reservationist/Customer Service Representative to work 12:30 PM - 4:30 PM. In this role, you'll assist customers by scheduling transportation and providing excellent service. We're seeking friendly, dependable people who take pride in safety and helping others.

Position Subject to Collective Bargaining Agreement:
  • $20.00 - $33.52 (Union Collective Bargaining Agreement Pay Scale)
  • Starting pay $20.00 with progression to $33.52 over 7 years.

Benefits include:
  • Paid Sick Leave: Part-time employees may be eligible for 40 hours yearly based on hours worked.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Answer customer calls and input ride information using a computerized scheduling system.
  • Enter new customer information and changes into the system.
  • Data entry into spreadsheets and databases.
  • Communicate late vehicle service and verifying "No Shows" with customers.
  • Resolve service-related complaints.
  • Create daily route maps of the reservations for the drivers.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years reservationist or customer service experience.
  • Computer literate
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Physical Requirements:
The essential functions of this position require the ability to:
  • Work is accomplished indoors in air conditioned or well-ventilated facilities
  • Sit, type, and look at a computer for extended periods (up to 6-9 hours per day)
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and in written correspondence
  • Work is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer
  • Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level
