About the Role & Program

Through innovative storytelling and a culture of collaboration, Disney Live Entertainment creates, produces, and delivers remarkable and engaging entertainment experiences. From the intimate to the spectacular, our work can be seen at Disney theme parks, resort hotels, cruise ships, and other locations around the world over! This diverse team - representing a wide variety of disciplines and talents from art directors, concept artists, illustrators, 3D modelers, technical directors, writers, and lighting designers to choreographers, cosmetologists, and music producers - bringing magical worlds to life through technical expertise, performance excellence, incomparable ingenuity, unparalleled spectacle... and a dash of pixie dust!

The approximate date of this internship is January 2027 to June 2027, located in Orlando, FL.

What You Will Do

The DLE Art Studio is a collection of unparalleled Visual Storytellers that are responsible for the development of artwork including: concept art, scenic designs, renderings, color elevations, logos, graphics, and 3D models. They bring to life offerings including parades, stage shows, spectaculars, and special events for Disney Parks, resorts, Disney Cruise Line, and beyond.

We are looking for an individual with a positive personality, an innovative mindset, and a fervor for Disney quality and creativity. We are seeking a motivated individual who will ensure that the Disney standards are reflected consistently in all design & technical materials.

  • Demonstrating strong design/illustration skills in multiple formats including character sketches, storyboards, color illustrations, digital painting, graphic design, and theatre/themed entertainment/production design
  • Collaborating as part of a team on at least one project from blue sky to completion
  • Working on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Participating in applicable Disney Live Entertainment seminars and meetings
  • Assisting with design research

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Proficient knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Experience with 3D modeling/sculpting software
  • Creativity and out-of-the-box thinking
  • Knowledge of the live entertainment & theme park industry
  • Eagerness to learn new skills
  • Building trust through a strong work ethic & communication
  • Balancing conflicting priorities with the ability to meet demanding targeted dates
  • Computer proficiency within a Windows environment, such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

Traditional or fine arts experience with physical media

Interest in field experience, including overnight rehearsals and installations

Experience with AutoCAD/Vectorworks

Experience with fabrication methods

Education

Currently enrolled as a junior or senior student, pursuing a degree in an art or theatrical program, or a related field.

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university, taking at least one class at the time of application posting, OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Possess a valid U.S. driver's license and have the ability to operate a company vehicle
  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program
  • Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
