KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Male Young Adult Ministry Associate will support the Young Adult Director in implementing the mission, vision, and strategy of The Co. This role exists to help make disciples of Jesus Christ by shepherding young adults, developing leaders, supporting discipleship environments, and assisting in the execution of ministry initiatives.

Specifically, the Young Adult Ministry Associate will divide his time among four primary areas: shepherding and discipleship, leadership development, Co-Groups and Small Groups, and ministry execution.

Shepherding and Discipleship:
  • Serve as a primary shepherd and disciple-maker for male young adults within the ministry.
  • Build intentional relationships that encourage spiritual growth and biblical maturity.
  • Be available to meet with young adults for discipleship, encouragement, and spiritual care.
  • Assist in identifying and responding to care needs and connect individuals with appropriate church resources when necessary.
  • Support discipleship environments such as Co Groups, Rooted, and other ministry initiatives.
  • Connect with ministry assistant for support in connection and assimilation.

Leadership Development:
  • Identify, recruit, and develop future leaders within the ministry.
  • Coach and support Co Group leaders, volunteers, and key ministry leaders.
  • Conduct regular leader check-ins, encouragement, and development conversations.
  • Assist in creating and facilitating leadership development opportunities.
  • Help move young adults from attendee to volunteer to leader.
  • Possibility to rotate into teach at The Co periodically based on giftedness and need.

Co-Groups and Small Groups:
  • Develop the training and resources necessary for Co-Group leaders to thrive and execute the teaching environments for these trainings.
  • Lead and Equip 5 Co-Group Leader Teams.
  • Work alongside of Menโ€™s Ministry to effectively equip all small group study leaders with the necessary training to lead their Menโ€™s studies well.
  • Float between every Co-Group once per season in hopes to better correct and train those leaders towards healthy Co-Ed groups.

Ministry Execution:
  • Assist in preparing and executing Tuesday night gatherings.
  • Support volunteer teams and ministry environments during weekly gatherings.
  • Assist in retreats, conferences, outreach opportunities, and special ministry events.
  • Help ensure ministry environments are welcoming, organized, and effective.
  • Support the Young Adult Director in carrying out ministry initiatives and vision.
  • Oversee the Media Team Leads on Tuesday Night.
  • Follow up with New Young Adults and assist them in finding meaningful connection within the ministry as needed and directed by the ministry assistant.

Team Collaboration:
  • Work collaboratively with ministry staff, volunteers, and church departments.
  • Demonstrate a proactive and servant-hearted approach to ministry.
  • Assist in strengthening ministry culture, leadership development, and discipleship pathways.
  • Other work as assigned by Supervisor.

PROFESSIONAL AND SPIRITUAL EXPECTATIONS:
  • Education: Bachelorโ€™s Degree preferred.
  • Experience: 2+ years preferred.
  • A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a vital, growing personal relationship with Him that meets all qualifications for leadership referenced in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1 (except as a female, married or single).ย 
  • Exhibit a meaningful and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as evidenced by the manifestation of the fruit of the Holy Spirit.ย 
  • Commitment to personal and active participation in the fulfillment of the Great Commission. ย 
  • Exhibit a lifestyle appropriate to a person in public Christian ministry by conducting life with the utmost integrity in all situations.ย 
  • Exemplify the humility of Christ and a loving, servants heart in all facets of leadership.ย 
  • Consistent attendance and participation in the life of the church and the YA ministries.ย 
  • Demonstrate a personal passion to minister to people within the context of the local church.ย 
  • Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with staff and volunteers.ย 
  • Self-motivated and able to initiate projects, work independently, and troubleshoot.ย 
  • Possess a high attention to detail.ย
