City Academy blends on-campus learning with guided home instruction through a unique hybrid model. Students attend classes on campus several days each week and continue their learning at home using lesson plans and support from our teachers. Job Description

City Academy of Atlanta is seeking warm, wise, and mission-driven teachers. The ideal candidate will be deeply committed to nurturing studentsโ€™ growth in wisdom and skill in all academic areas within a nurturing Christian environment, fostering both intellect and character. Aligned with our Evergreen Educational Framework, teachers will design and deliver instruction that is conceptually rich, developmentally appropriate, and rooted in relational discipleship. Instruction should be centered on deep understanding over memorization, supporting students in becoming clear thinkers, joyful problem solvers, and thoughtful stewards of their intellectual gifts.

Key job responsibilities are as follows:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessonsย 
  • Integrate Christian values and Biblical worldview into everyday learning
  • Provide individualized attention, differentiation, and support for diverse learning needs.
  • Integrate the Evergreen Frameworkโ€™s vertical (God, others, created world) and horizontal (Seeds to Mature Plant) lensesย  (you will receive training on this)
  • Build a classroom culture that values humility, curiosity, perseverance, and mutual care
  • Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to support integrated learning experiences
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and orderly classroom characterized by respect and kindness.
  • Design formative and summative assessment to monitor growth.
  • Offer constructive feedback to students and communicate progress to parents consistently.
  • Support home based learning through regular updates, guidance and resource sharing
  • Participate in faculty discipleship, professional development, and community events
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Education or related field, and/or relevant work or educational experience
  • At least 2 years of teaching experience, ideally in a Christian or hybrid homeschool setting
  • Eagerness to work in a covenant Christian community
  • Commitment to partnering with parents and honoring the God-given design of each child
  • Active Christian faith aligned with City Academyโ€™s mission and vision.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to partner effectively with families.

Teaching Schedule

  • On-campus teaching:ย  Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:45AM - 3:00PM
