Job description

Summary of Position

The Women's Discipleship Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the campus based discipleship initiatives among women at the West Cary Campus of The Summit Church.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • History of demonstrating gifts in leadership, training, and discipleship
  • A commitment to servant leadership and dependent on God
  • Teachable and eager to learn
  • Self starter, works well in team context, and is organized & proficient in administration
  • Commitment to the local church as the sending agent for the mission of God
  • A member of The Summit Church or is able and willing to become a member
  • Interview with 1-2 Elder Couples, Campus Pastor, & Women's Discipleship Director (WDD)
  • Commissioned by the Campus Pastor and Elder team during weekend service

Responsibilities

With Campus Team:

  • Meets with supervisor once a month.
  • Responsible for communicating with women interested in discipleship opportunities or women needing help getting connected to other areas of ministry or support within the church.
  • Final decision maker under supervisor for discipleship content, strategy, and events.
  • Helps ensure women are thought for and valued in all campus planning, strategy, and scheduling.
  • Serves as a gatekeeper for ideas on women's initiatives that other women bring forward and discusses each with the campus pastor to determine where the idea falls in Own, Catalyze, Bless, Stop matrix.
  • Creates, leads, and utilizes a women's discipleship leadership team of volunteers with the end goal of multiplication.
  • Meets with the campus women's discipleship leadership team at least every three months and communicates with the team via email, text, or phone calls at least once a month.
  • Follows the Women's Discipleship EPOD

With Women's Discipleship Team:

  • Attends monthly WDC meetings or sends someone from campus wd leadership team in her absence. (typically every first Wednesday of the month from 9:30-11:30am at BCC)
  • Meets with WDD every other month (However, WDD is available once a month)

Welcomed but not required:

  • Attends weekly campus staff meetings
  • Attends ALL Staff meetings
  • Serves alongside campus staff team in campus initiatives.
  • Serves in a visible role during weekend services to make women aware of her leadership position and contributes and participates in all campus events such as campus prayer, worship, and member night.

Churchwide Events

The hours for this position are expected to be 10 hours per week. As one church that meets in many locations, there are several times throughout the year that Summit holds church-wide events in an effort to do whatever it takes to reach all people. All staff members are expected to serve at these church-wide events regardless of the positions they hold.

Such events include, but are not limited to: Easter services, church-wide prayer meetings, Good Friday service, and Christmas services. Serving expectations will be communicated in advance of each event.
