Job description

Position: Coordinator of Evangelization and Discipleship-St. John the Evangelist

Status: Full-time

Salary Direct Supervisor: Director of Evangelization & Discipleship

Job Requirements:
Active Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church
Personal Relationship with Jesus Christ rooted in a committed daily prayer life
Mission-oriented mindset
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and parish family
Strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills

Education:
4-year undergraduate degree (Theology, Pastoral Ministry or related field preferred) Work Experience and Skills:
2-3 years of relevant experience, preferably in an apostolate, ministry, or parish setting
Primary Responsibilities:
Order of Christian Initial of Adults (OCIA) Administration and Coordination
Assist the Director of OCIA in the planning, coordination, and execution of all aspects of the OCIA process
Assist with initial intake meetings, threshold conversations, follow-up communication and on-going accompaniment with those in the OCIA process
Maintain organized and accurate records, including sacramental documentation (baptismal certificates, sponsor forms, marriage records, etc.)
Assist in the planning and logistical coordination of liturgical rites (Rite of Welcome/Entrance, Rite of Sending, Easter Vigil)


Program Coordination & Communication:
Coordinate the Adult Confirmation process, including registration, collection of required documentation, and communication with candidates, instructors, and the Office of the Bishop
Coordinate registration and participant communication for evangelization and discipleship offerings (e.g., Called & Gifted, Ananias Training)
Serve as a point of contact for participants, responding to inquiries and providing clear, timely communication
Assist with planning and coordination of retreats, mornings of reflection, and other special events (registration, materials, communication, and hospitality details)

Ministry & Volunteer Support
Assist in planning and coordinating formation opportunities for parish ministry leaders and volunteers including but not limited to: small group leaders, youth ministry leaders
Assist in the accompaniment of people in their growth as missionary disciples Workplace Factors:
Indoor office environment. Frequent walks to other campus facilities.
Ability to lift 35 pounds and assist with room set-up and breakdown as needed


Specific areas of Responsibility:
Meets weekly with the Direct Supervisor.

Other:
Attend staff meetings and weekly prayer time
Participate in yearly staff retreat (off-site)
Annual review
Be present and assist with parish events, formation, and programs as needed.
