Description
The Production Designer is responsible to design and produce print and digital artwork and materials that supports Murdoch's stores, digital signage, e-commerce and home office. This position requires exceptional attention to detail and creativity while working under tight project deadlines. As a valuable member of the Marketing team, this position also assists with other communication related tasks, content, and events to support the Murdoch's brand.
The Production Designer has a solid command of all design and production programs, strong organizational skills, can manage multiple deadlines and thrives in the dynamic nature of an in-house marketing department by adapting to ever changing priorities, needs and workflow.
The Production Designer would join a growing team of exceptionally talented professionals in the Marketing Department at Murdoch's Home Office in Bozeman, Montana.
This position is located at the Home Office in Bozeman, MT where we offer a flexible hybrid work environment. Candidate must live within a 40-mile radius of the corporate office.
As a Murdoch's Team Member in this role, you will ...
Production
  • Prepare designs and layouts (in-house or with outside vendors) for printed materials such as sign packages, newspaper flyers, promotional event materials and store signage and information materials
  • Able to create, organize and manage production files in a professional manner, and troubleshoot any prepress or production issues
  • Digital asset management of photos, logos, product information, etc.
  • Strong quality assurance and file preparation skills including pre-press for packaging, color management (CMYK) for print and online or digital use (RBG)
  • Must be able to spec print jobs and gather estimates from vendors as needed
  • Must be able to deliver files to vendors or media accurately and on time to guarantee high-quality output
  • Must coordinate with other team members to manage projects and deadlines

Creative
  • Balance creativity with technical accuracy to ensure the finished products meet the highest standards
  • Able to maintain typography, imagery, and template consistency across all printed materials within Murdoch's brand and graphic standards
  • Follow the design standards/leadership set by the Art Director
  • Creative professional with exceptional ability to design, produce and manage projects including multi-product layouts (8-12 page) newspaper flyers, digital signage, emails, online graphics, event materials and signage, print advertising, direct mail, posters, store signage, promotional materials, etc.
  • Understand the fundamental principles of graphic design and layout including color, image manipulation, design templates, fonts, production and composition
  • Artistic ability and creativity while being true to the Murdoch's brand

Technology
  • Expert use of Adobe Creative Suite to execute designs, including Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator required
  • Deep understanding of digital printing, offset printing, paper stock variables, and finishing techniques
  • Ability to design/repurpose artwork for digital/online purposes such as website, email, digital signage
  • Must be able to design on a PC
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Other
  • Must be able to effectively collaborate and work with other members of the team such as graphic designers, buyers, vendors, supplier-partners, co-op marketing managers, store personnel and regional marketing & event managers to accomplish goals and objectives of the Company
