Manager of Information Technology
Location: Onsite Pittsburgh, PA
Salary: $90,000 - $100,000

We are seeking a highly capable Manager of Information Technology to serve as a hands-on technical leader in a fast-paced, professional environment. The Manager of Information Technology will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of IT systems while directly supporting business operations and end users.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Manager of Information Technology who combines strong leadership ability with deep technical expertise and thrives in a service-oriented setting.

Position Summary

The Manager of Information Technology is responsible for the design, implementation, security, and daily operation of the organization’s technology environment. Acting as both a senior technologist and escalation point, the Manager of Information Technology ensures high-performing IT systems that support operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Escalation
  • Lead and mentor IT staff while remaining hands-on in technical work
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues
  • Establish and maintain IT standards, procedures, and best practices
Infrastructure & Operations
  • Manage and support core infrastructure including servers, networks, storage, telecommunications, and cloud systems
  • Perform system administration tasks such as patching, monitoring, backups, and upgrades
  • Ensure system availability, reliability, and performance
  • Troubleshoot advanced hardware, software, and connectivity issues
End-User & Application Support
  • Administer and support key business platforms, including document management and operational systems
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to improve workflows and optimize system use
  • Provide hands-on support for critical projects, presentations, and operational needs
Cybersecurity & Risk Management
  • Implement and maintain security controls such as MFA, endpoint protection, encryption, and firewalls
  • Oversee backup processes, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning
  • Respond to security incidents and audit requirements
Microsoft 365 & Cloud Administration
  • Administer Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)
  • Manage SaaS platforms, integrations, licensing, and user access
  • Optimize systems for performance, cost-efficiency, and security
Asset & Lifecycle Management
  • Oversee procurement, deployment, and lifecycle management of IT assets
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and ensure licensing compliance
Planning & Continuous Improvement
  • Identify and implement practical system improvements
  • Participate in and lead technology projects from planning through execution
  • Balance innovation with system stability and risk management

Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of progressive IT experience, including leadership responsibilities
  • Strong hands-on experience in infrastructure, systems administration, and user support
Preferred
  • Experience in a professional services environment
  • Familiarity with specialized industry applications and workflows
