Management Applications, Inc., a leading provider of Managed IT Services and Network Design and Implementation is seeking IT Professionals for positions with an entity in Arlington, VA. Please submit a resume and salary requirements to be considered.
The Entity needs IT and expert assistance services in two specializations; Management Studies and Disaster Recovery Planning. Under Management Studies, for example, personnel may be asked to perform assessments of staffing structures systems or processes. They may be asked to assist in requirements definition for new technology projects or assess organizational impact of implementing new systems. They may be asked to assist in the development of requests for proposals or facilitate the evaluation of proposals. It should be noted that any vendor assisting in this capacity is barred from applying for that specific proposal.
Regarding Disaster Planning/Disaster Recovery, personnel may be asked to perform hands-on support in the more technical subset of Disaster Planning/Disaster Recovery dealing with recovery strategies and data collection/organization/planning. Support for testing the plan may also be desired. The intention is to provide an independent review of existing materials and the revision of those materials, not on project management of disaster planning.
Job Responsibilities and Experience Requirements
MANAGEMENT STUDIES
Provide a complete range of services associated with business issues such as the analysis and evaluation of current functional or system operations and procedures, tactical planning, best of breed analysis benchmarks and appropriateness of emerging technologies within the Entity's information processing environment. Other services desired include implementation of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework and/or Capability Maturity Model, development and implementation of performance measures, independent verification and validation (IV&V) of projects and economic analysis such as return on investment and cost benefit analysis, BPR, Benchmark studies, design and development of management reports and business applications requirements analysis and data definitions. The materials may be as useful for staff retirements and turnover as actual disaster scenarios, with emphasis on use-ability and maintainability - pragmatic, living documents. The desire is not for end-user documentation, nor for the management commitment, risk assessment, prioritization portions of disaster planning. Services will include staff with software system experience (to understand custom-built application support) and operational support experience. Must be knowledgeable enough to recognize what is missing, not simply update what exists. Experience in the development, implementation, configuration, operation, and support of software systems (both custom developed and third-party applications). Understanding what information is required for supporting these applications (e.g., end user set-up and support, access control design, application start-up and shut-down procedures, known failure points, change control processes, system interfaces and reporting processes.)
