We are seeking a Litigation Associate for our Civil Rights practice. The position will be based in either Seattle or Minneapolis, depending on the preference of the successful candidate.
The Litigation Associate will work on employment and civil rights cases from intakes through trials and appeals. Associates evaluate and investigate claims, provide legal advice, draft pleadings and briefs, conduct written discovery, take depositions, engage in oral argument, and try cases in court. Litigation Associates manage a meaningful caseload with substantial autonomy under close mentorship from experienced trial attorneys. Our attorneys provide excellent, ethical representation to individual clients in complex employment and civil rights cases. We prioritize collaboration, learning, empathy, and top-notch work product.
Required Qualifications:
- Admitted to and active member of the Washington State Bar Association or Minnesota State Bar Association, or eligible for admission through reciprocity;
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the practice of law, with preference for experience in plaintiff’s side employment or civil rights litigation;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including analyzing, interpreting, and conveying complex information and concepts;
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills;
- Familiarity and comfort with current legal technology, including benefits and risks of AI tools and e-discovery platforms;
- Demonstrated record of excellent client service and ability to work with a diverse set of clients from all walks of life;
- Detail-oriented and capable of handling a high volume of work, in a sometimes fast-paced environment;
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks to meet critical deadlines;
- Thorough command of the English language including excellent spelling, grammar,
punctuation, form, and style; and
- A demonstrated commitment to the equal rights of all people and the rule of law.
Employee Salary and Benefits:
- $90,000–120,000, depending on experience
