Volunteers of America Mid-States (VOA) is a non-profit organization spanning four states that creates positive change in the lives of individuals and communities through a ministry of service. We provide housing for families, veterans, and low-income seniors. We provide care and support for individuals with developmental disabilities, healing accountability that brings people together with restorative justice, and free HIV testing and education. JOB SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS:
The project manager will partner with team members from across the organization to support various complex projects aiming to improve internal functions and/or to develop and launch new or expanded services. This position will ensure that Volunteers of America Mid-States continues to meet the critical needs of those in our communities with the greatest need.
WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE:
1. A bachelor's degree in business administration, project management, public administration, nonprofit management, social work, or related field required.
2. 2-3 years' experience in project management or organizational operations required.
3. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
4. Proven ability to lead, prioritize, and manage multiple projects and relationships.
5. Exceptional attention to detail including organization, diligence, and time management skills.
6. Knowledge of project management software is preferred.
7. Experience supporting or coordinating mergers, acquisitions, or organizational integrations preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Coordinate and manage projects across a variety of programs with internal and external focus
2. Outline tasks involved in the projects and assign tasks to appropriate team members
3. Identify project resource requirements, allocate resources effectively, and ensure that team members have the necessary tools and support to complete their tasks
4. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on project objectives. Proactively monitor project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
5. Participate in budget development and monitoring
6. Develop comprehensive project plans, including objectives, scope, deliverables, timelines, resource allocation, and budget estimates.
7. Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including clients, team members, and senior management. Keep stakeholders informed of project progress, milestones, and any issues or changes that may arise.
8. Provide leadership and guidance to project team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment. Motivate team members to achieve project objectives and overcome challenges.
9. Track project progress against established goals and milestones, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders. Identify and address any issues or bottlenecks that may impact project timelines or deliverables.
10. Conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement. Leverage feedback to optimize project management processes and enhance organizational efficiency.
