Position: Litigation Paralegal
Pay Range: $29.00-$37.50 per hour
Performance Based Bonus: bonuses tied to performance
Benefits Summary

Position Overview

Johnson Law Group is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join our Chicago office in support of our Personal Injury Auto Accidents practice. This role involves managing litigation matters from intake through trial, preparing legal documents, and ensuring compliance with procedural requirements and deadlines. Based on experience and qualifications, this position may be considered at a Senior Litigation Paralegal level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft pleadings, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, motions, and settlement documents for attorney review
  • Organize, review, and summarize medical records, police reports, and accident-related documentation
  • Coordinate with clients, medical providers, expert witnesses, and opposing counsel
  • Conduct legal and factual research to support case development and litigation strategy
  • Assist with deposition, mediation, and trial preparation, including exhibits, witness files, and trial binders
  • Track and manage litigation deadlines in accordance with Illinois civil procedure and local court rules
  • Maintain accurate, well-organized case files within the firm's case management system
  • Provide compassionate, professional communication to clients throughout the litigation process

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of litigation paralegal experience in personal injury (auto accident experience strongly preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of Illinois civil procedure and electronic filing systems
  • Excellent organizational, writing, and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Paralegal certificate
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English

Compensation & Classification

  • Hourly, non-exempt position
  • Eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable Illinois and federal wage and hour laws
