Job description

We are seeking a Developmental Disability Support Worker to join our team! You will assist in the daily care of individuals with developmental disabilities. This can include (but not limited to) those with intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Cerebral Palsy (CP), Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS), etc.

Home located in: Kanata, ON

Start date: March 15, 2026

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with daily living activities (meal preparation, personal care, housekeeping, etc)
  • Communicate ongoing care results and updates to relevant parties
  • Collaborate with clients and families for best care opportunities
  • Maintain a healthy and comfortable living environment
  • Implement individual support plans and document progress
  • Promote independence, dignity and choice
  • Follow proper protocols and policies regarding risk intervention and deescalation

โ€‹Qualifications:

  • Previous experience and/or education in personal care or other related fields (preferably those with developmental disabilities)
    • Degree in Social Sciences
    • Diploma or Degree in Social services
  • Knowledge of developmental disabilities spectrum
  • Compassionate and caring demeanour
  • Ability to build rapport with clients
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid driver's license and/or reliable transportation (if required)
  • Clear criminal record check/vulnerable check
  • Valid First Aid/CPR
  • Eligibility to work in Canada
