Eitas is currently hiring a Lead Automotive Technician:

  • Located at our Transportation Center, 6400 James A. Reed Rd., Kansas City, MO 64133
  • Full time schedule Monday โ€“ Friday (with overtime as needed)
  • Comprehensive benefit package, including health, vision, and dental
  • Company-paid life, short-term and long-term disability insurance
  • 22 days of PTO earned your first year, 12 holidays plus 1 floating holiday per year

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Diagnose and repair automotive/light and medium duty truck systems in accordance with the preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Diagnose and repair brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and/or advanced fuel, ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems to specifications, in a safe and timely manner.
  • Meet or exceed the minimum efficiency ratings as required by eitas policy.
  • Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to other technicians, internal and external customers as needed.
  • Install necessary accessories in vehicles as needed.
  • Assist in assigning and coordinating workload for other technicians as needed.
  • Train, mentor, and support current and newly hired technicians in repair techniques, safety practices, and best practices for automotive repair.
  • Respond to service requests submitted by drivers regarding the general maintenance or condition of the vehicles.
  • Keep management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
  • Supply and maintain your own set of basic tools on site to utilize for work performed.
  • Maintain current knowledge of new technical information and techniques through formal training sessions to stay abreast of rapidly changing automotive technology.
  • Maintain the condition of the shop area in a safe, clean and orderly fashion.
  • Be available for emergency service in the event of an en-route vehicle breakdown.
  • Complete required paperwork on all in-house and outside services performed on each vehicle.
  • Assist other mechanics in performing technical activities as needed.
  • Be sensitive to the needs of our passengers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of ten years of automotive/light and medium duty truck/van repair and diagnostic experience, including brake systems, primary and/or advanced fuel systems, ignition, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems, electrical systems, and proficiency in scan tool diagnostics, OR a combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent and that would provide the required knowledge and abilities.
  • Good driving record.
