Maryville University | St. Louis, Missouri
Full-Time Staff Position
Help Every Student Access Their Full Potential
At Maryville University, we believe that access, belonging, and student success go hand in hand. We are seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and student-centered Coordinator for Disability Support to join our Student Affairs team and help ensure that every student has equitable access to the resources, accommodations, and support they need to thrive.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about accessibility, disability inclusion, student advocacy, and building meaningful relationships across campus. As a key member of the Office for Disability Support, you will partner with students, faculty, and campus leaders to coordinate accommodations, remove barriers, and foster a culture where all learners can succeed.
What You'll Do
Champion Student Access & Accommodation Support
Serve as the primary point of contact for students seeking disability accommodations by coordinating the interactive process for accommodations and supporting individualized student success plans. You'll conduct intake meetings, review documentation, facilitate accommodations, and provide ongoing support that empowers students to advocate for themselves and achieve their goals.
Build Strong Partnerships Across Campus
Work closely with faculty, Student Success Life Coaches, Academic Affairs, Student Health & Counseling Services, Residential Life, and other campus partners to ensure accommodations are implemented effectively and students receive coordinated, holistic support. You'll serve as a trusted resource for accessibility-related questions and guidance.
Advance Accessibility, Awareness & Inclusion
Help create a more inclusive campus by developing educational programs, workshops, and outreach initiatives focused on disability awareness, accessibility, neurodiversity, universal design, and student success. Your work will help foster understanding, belonging, and equitable access throughout the university community.
Support Accessible Operations & Service Delivery
Coordinate accommodated testing processes, support assistive technology and accessibility resources, maintain accurate case documentation, and contribute to process improvements that enhance the student experience. You'll help ensure services are delivered consistently, efficiently, and in alignment with legal and institutional standards.
Contribute to Continuous Improvement
Stay informed on emerging best practices, disability law, and higher education trends while helping strengthen Maryville's accessibility services and student support systems through collaboration, innovation, and professional development.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, Disability Studies, Counseling, Psychology, Education, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of ADA, Section 504, FERPA, and disability accommodation practices.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build collaborative partnerships and support students through complex situations.
Preferred
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in disability support services, accessibility services, student affairs, student support, or a related higher education setting.
  • Experience working with college students, accommodations, case management systems, or student support programming.
Why Maryville?
At Maryville, our mission is simple: Learn Deeply. Serve Boldly. Lead with Heart.
When you join our team, you'll become part of a university committed to innovation, access, student-centered support, and building a culture where every member of our community can thrive. You'll have the opportunity to make a direct impact on students' lives while helping shape a more inclusive and accessible campus experience for all.
If you're passionate about student advocacy, accessibility, and creating meaningful opportunities for success, we'd love to hear from you.
